It will be a hard work for everyone to increase your vocabulary. The following directions may help you :
1. Make a vocabulary notebooks : Write down all the new words come across in your homework and separate them by the capital letter .
2.Recording meaning : You can draw a picture , translate the meaning or record other information (I think this way is not useful to everyone!).
3.I think it's a best way which fits me to increase my vocabulary , including write down the word and speech of this word . Then look for the best definition in our dictionary and write it down below the word . In addition , you can rewrite the sample sentence(s) in dictionary in order to help you remember the word .

Yes It's a good way to memorize. I used to try to memorize that way but I don't use that way now. I am using word card. It's useful for anytime you can see and anywhere you can bring.
It's good that you have such a developed technique for learning vocabulary. Whatever method works for you is the best.
